Criteria/Contraints - 1. Must fit into a 1.5 x 1.5 square 2. Height Containts: Pawn: 1.00- 1.25 in. tall Rook: 1.50- 1.75 in. tall Knight: 2.00- 2.25 in. tall Bishop: 2.50- 2.75 in. tall Queen: 3.00- 3.25 in. tall King: 3.50- 4.00 in. tall 3. No piece of any design can be smaller than .16in thick.
Since I had the intention of making a king chess piece anyways, I used the king height contraints, which are highlighted in green.
Brainstorming
Before we, my peers and I, could do this individual project, we had to complete the CAD Modeling and Features section of tutorials that my teacher provide for us. I started out by starting a unique original normal chess piece in Inventor but I had a thought in which resulted in the chess piece that is in this portfolio.
Completed Prototype
This is my completed chess piece. (Please excuse the green circles.) I started with the base or pedestal then the chair that the character is standing on. Then I built the character.
